Mission
10.9 million hectares of forest destroyed per year, 2015 to 2025. That is larger than South Korea, every year, gone.
In 2024, the tropics lost 6.7 million hectares of primary rainforest. A record in at least two decades. Fires were the main cause.
These forests do not come back on their own timeline. They come back in decades, when they come back at all.

Trees absorb CO₂ as they grow. A mature tree removes roughly 22 kg per year — around 1.1 tonnes over fifty years if it reaches maturity and stands the whole time. Survival-adjusted, the figure this site actually claims is 0.77 tonnes.
At $4 to $10 per tree, this is the lowest-cost verified carbon removal available to an individual acting alone.
No laboratory. No carbon capture machine. Just a tree, soil, and time.

Government pledges travel through ministries and procurement cycles before reaching the ground. Years can pass between a signed declaration and a planted tree.
Corporate sustainability commitments are verified internally, by the same teams that set the targets.
The gap between announced and actual is large, and growing.
REFOREST is not another institution asking you to trust it. It is a public system anyone can audit, in real time, forever.
No funds are collected for trees. No team plants trees on your behalf. No organization manages the program.
When you pledge and plant a tree, you are the program. REFOREST is the system that makes your action visible, verifiable, and permanent.
One tree absorbs 22 kg of CO₂ per year at maturity.
At a 70% community planting survival rate, each tree you plant contributes roughly 15.4 kg effective CO₂ removal per year once established.
Over 10 years, a single planted tree removes approximately 70 to 154 kg of CO₂ — the range depending on how quickly it establishes. The whitepaper sets out the derivation.
At $4 to $10 per tree, that is roughly $0.04 to $0.10 per kg of CO₂ removed. The voluntary carbon market prices 1 kg at $0.01 to $0.05.
You are doing this at cost, not for profit.
